HAUL! | Urban Outfitters, Boohoo.com, Woodbuds & More!

Hi everyone! I thought I would do a haul today because I've been accumulating things, surprise, surprise! Mainly because I'm going to London fashion week very soon and I want to put some effort into my outfit. I did a haul not long ago and it proved very popular with you guys so I thought I'd share a few more things.

I have done a lot of online shopping lately. I actually had a new parcel to my door everyday this week - I blame the sales! So I'll start off with the priciest items and the first one is this oversized, reversible tote bag from Urban Outfitters. On one side its black and on the other its cream. I saw this bag just before christmas but decided not to get it as I was saving my money to spend on presents for others. I decided to go back and get it because its the perfect size for college and I don't have a black bag so now I do. It was £38 which I personally think is overpriced because 1. It has no compartments! 2. It doesn't have a shoulder strap 3. It doesn't keep shape unless you put in this heavy padding it comes with and 4. It claims its leather but it doesn't feel like it. Its more soft side. Altogether, I do love this bag, its very classy but I would recommend looking for cheaper versions.

Moving on to Boohoo.com as thats where most of the items have come from. If you follow me on Instagram you'll have seen the first two items. They are a pair of crocodile print, pointed, leather boots and a grey, cropped , turtleneck jumper.  I'm very happy with the turtleneck, its the perfect size and it was only £15. I wasn't too sure about the boots because there very 'out there' but after posting them on Instagram, a lot of you said you liked them. I am going to wear them because they were £25 and both of these I'm actually wearing to LFW.

Comment below your thoughts? And, whether their suitable for college?

The third thing from Boohoo.com is a long, oversized, white blouse for £18. I chose this one specifically because it has three, square pockets which makes a really feminine piece look edgy. They also come in very handy whenever you don't want to take a bag.

Lastly from Boohoo.com is a grey, skirt. I saw this skirt last year but decided not to get it and I have regretted that decision ever since. So obviously when I saw it in the sales for only £8, I had to get it and I'm so glad I did! It fits me perfectly which is definitely an upside as I have problems finding skirts that fit. Its also more on the tomboy side due to sleeves that wrap around the front but thats what caught my eye.

My last purchase is something I never thought about getting until the other day when I was laying in bed, tucked up with my cat under my arm. I wanted to take a picture but it was too early in the morning to ask someone  so I decided to get a selfie stick. This has just come in really helpful with blogging, I'm thinking about taking it to LFW, and It was only £1.99 from Ebay.

This very last product is actually something I didn't pay for, I was sent them by the company 'Woodbuds' but I think they are totally worth the £25. They are so stylish, I got them in White because as you know, I do not wear a lot of colour. What I like most about Woodbuds is that their environmentally friendly so the headphones are half made of wood. A lot of my friends have complimented them and I actually didn't take them out the packaging for a week because I didn't want to ruin them - True story!

That is everything I've accumulated the last week, I hope you liked them. Don't forget to comment below your opinion of the boots and follow me on Instagram - '@SkylarLivell. Big kiss! S.

#ASKSKYLAR | FASHION, BEAUTY, ETC...?

Hi everyone! Back in January, I did a question & answer post and I got so many questions that I decided to split them into two posts. The last Q&A I did was about my general lifestyle and some blogging advice. So once again I took to twitter, but this time you guys asked me some fashion related questions using the #AskSkylar.

If you want to be mentioned in some later Q&A posts then follow me on twitter ('SkylarLivell') and ask me some questions.

Q1. How do you throw an outfit together when your in a rush?-@Chrislingling
  • I have a go to outfit that I wear whenever I'm in a rush. It's usually just black leggings and a long baggy jumper. However, if I wore those yesterday and their dirty or in the wash, I would come up with another outfit focusing around one piece of clothing.
Q2. How would you describe your style?-@Brunette_wavez
  • Erm, my style varies! One day it will be classy and the next day it will be very casual, tomboy. Most of the time my style is very classy and neat because I like to stick to my black, skinny jeans, pointed croc print boots and camel coat. But I do have those days where I'm in more of a tomboy sort of mood. Then I'll wear my converse, leggings and a oversized denim jacket.
Q3. Do you have any tips for finding your style?-@Redheadmare
  • If your struggling to find your signature style, I recommend just trying everything. Try the whole girly-girl look. Try the tomboy look. This way you can get a taste of it all and then choose which you like the most or what you suit.
Q4. What's your favourite and least favourite campaign for spring 2015?-@Shimmerofpink
  • I don't have a campaign that I dislike but I have so many campaigns that I do like. I can't narrow it down to one so my three current favourites are Blumarine, Chanel and Louis Vuitton. Louis Vuitton is definitely my favourite designer hence the reason why I have done two blog posts based on his collections.
Q5. What is your favourite nail varnish shade right now?-@Beautycrowd
  • I've been loving the nude nail look atm, It just goes with everything. I think I mentioned this nail varnish in my January favourites, it's the Barry M nail varnish in 'Lychee'.
Q6. What's your number 1 beauty product you couldn't live without?
  • Make-up wise would have to be concealer and skincare, would have to be my Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish.
Q7. Favourite mac lipstick?
  •  Modesty! It has a very nice balance between brown and pink which makes it a tawny pink colour that looks very natural.
That about does it for this post, I hope you liked the answers to your questions and maybe you learnt something new. Don't forget to follow me on twitter so you can ask me questions for my next Q&A. I'm also going to London Fashion week soon so comment below if theres any posts you'd like me to do based on that. Feel free to leave any comments down below and hopefully I'll speak to you soon. Big kiss! S.

VALENTINES DAY MAKE-UP

Hi everyone! Valentines day has arrived, so I'm guessing your reading this because you either have a date or you're just curious about what I'm doing. I'm not actually doing anything for Valentines day other than watching TV on the sofa with my cat but I thought I'd give you some inspiration. So if your struggling with what to wear or what make-up to do, I got you covered.

In my opinion, valentine's day is about getting done up all girly. I'm not a girly-girl so I decided for this valentine's day make-up look I would keep it pink but add darker purples and browns to make it more smokey and tomboy. I also decided to go for an elongated eyeshadow look because its a lot more flirty and you can only pull of an elongated look on special occasions, I think. So why not take the opportunity?

Unlike my last make-up look post, I'm not going to tell you how I did it. Instead I'm just going to list all the products I used.

3 DATE NIGHT OUTFIT IDEAS

Hi everyone! Valentines day is right around the corner so I put together some outfits. These outfits are perfect if you plan on going out for valentines day, whether its with your partner or just some friends. Theres three different styles, incase you prefer girly-girly or more tomboy looks.

Comment down below, whats your favourite outfit? And, if you'd like me to do more posts like this?

Look #1
This is definitely the more dressed up look! It's perfect if your going on a night out with friends and you want to impress some of the males around. I kept the colour palette minimal because the sequins on the dress catch a lot of light, especially if your in a club with all the coloured lights. I wanted to tone down the dress a little so I put over it a black, graphic tee and then based the accessories around that.

Look #2
This look is for all you girly-girls out there who want to show off your curves without revealing tons of skin. I based the outfit around these gorgeous blue-green trousers, and kept these as the pop of colour by pairing it with all white. The pointy shoes help to create the illusion of longer legs and the clutch is just there incase you need to carry around some make-up for touch-ups.
This look is great for a dinner date but be careful not to spill anything on the white because thats not very attractive.

Look #3
The last outfit is for anyone who doesn't have a date but still wants to make the effort. It's also perfect for a date with your partner just staying inside and watching some films. This outfit is very dressy so I paired it with a slouchy jumper just to tone it down. The pointy, metallic shoes keep it feminine and flirty, perfect for valentines day.

Thats all of the outfits I put together, if you want to see where I got all the pieces from comment below or follow me on instagram ('SkylarLivell'). Don't forget to comment below your favourite look and if you'd like me to do more posts like this. Happy valentines day. Big kiss! S.

READY-TO-WEAR: BLUMARINE S/S15

Hi everyone! I realised I've been lacking on blog posts lately, especially fashion related. So I've decided to do another segment, where I talk about my favourite campaigns for S/S15.

I recently watched the Blumarine S/S 2015 catwalk and I fell in love with a lot of the pieces. I absolutely love how they've kept the outfit see through and used the flowers to cover up any private parts. The collection is obviously very dressy but theres always a way to dress it down for everyday wear.

What's your favourite part about the collection? Also do you have any fashion related questions that I can answer in a Q&A?
