PRE-HOLIDAY BODY PREPERATION


Hi! So today I thought I would write a pre-holiday preparation post. In a few days I will be on a plane, making my way to Cyprus. One of my main goals for this holiday is to step on to that beach and catch golden glowing skin. I don't tan easily so I have been recommended fake tan however after long nights of research, I realised skin needs to be prepped if you want your tan to stay. The skin on your body is no different to the skin on your face therefore should be treated exactly the same.
If you're wanting smooth, glowing skin, ready to be hit by the sunshine then you're in the right place...

»Exfoliate...
Its simple! Exfoliating your skin leaves you with 'new', fresh skin cells which means your skin will be smoother and wont shed as quickly. Therefore your tan will last longer. I've looked up this theory and so far its yet to disappoint.
To exfoliate my skin, I have been loving the Soap & Glory Oat, Sugar & Shea breakfast scrub, it leaves my skin feeling smooth and smelling like Maple Syrup with bananas. I have also been using Lush's Rub Rub Rub Shower scrub, This is perfect for summer as it leaves behind a refreshing sea salt scent. I exfoliate my skin every morning just to wake me up like a morning coffee and to wash away those dead skin cells.

 »Moisturise...
We moisturise are face twice a day, so why don't we moisturise are bodies? Moisturising your body everyday after exfoliating helps lead to smoother, silkier skin. Lately, I have been using Aveeno's Daily Moisturising Lotion and I love how it makes my skin look and feel. The best bit is, it doesn't leave behind a sticky residue so its great to use if your in a rush to get dressed.
If you were thinking of using fake tan moisturising is very important as fake tan can be very drying on the skin. 

 »Firm your body...
I prefer to Exercise however if your feeling lazy there are some firming products you can use. 
I exercise every morning in order to firm up and tone my body ready for any bikini snaps. So far I'm half way through the 30-day squat challenge and I have definitely noticed a change in my bum. Obviously I'm not going to show you however I will mention that it is firmer and a lot rounder. I've also been working on my stomach and chest by doing a few push-ups before showering. 
If your looking for a good firming lotion I would recommend Dr.Ceuticals Beach Perfect Body Firmer as I have heard a lot of great reviews. 

»Fix your feet...
Summer is the season when everyone likes to get there feet out and to me, bad feet are a no no! I am guilty of dry skin but I've managed to find a foot routine to perfect them. I know a lot of you don't like feet but trust me, it doesn't take long and the end results are worth it! After exfoliating and moisturising my feet, I like to apply Body Shop's Honey & Beeswax hand an foot butter. Its not sticky or oily, and leaves my skin feeling soft and smelling like honey. I also put socks on straight after to trap in the moisture and heat to help the product sink into my skin.
Don't forget to paint your toe nails for the extra 'WOW' factor! It may seem weird but getting compliments on your feet are a good way of showing you take care of your body from head-to-toe.
